Too often during the last twelve years the answer to tough budgetary times has been to cut police, fire, education and other service jobs in the city.
That needs to change. Civil servants are the backbone of this great city and we need to restore these lost jobs if we're going to ensure New York remains a safe and vibrant city in the 21st Century.
More cops and firefighters make our streets and homes, our communities and neighborhoods safer. And more teachers mean smaller class sizes and more effective education.
